FAQ
What are clinical somatic exercises?
Clinical somatic exercises are gentle, neuromuscular movements that help release chronic muscle tension, improve mobility, and restore natural movement patterns. These exercises focus on retraining the brain-to-muscle connection through a process called pendiculation. This is a gentle contraction and release of specific muscle groups that help to relieve pain and reduce stress stored in the body.
How are these exercises different from yoga, stretching, or physical therapy?
Unlike traditional stretching or physical therapy, clinical somatic exercises work through active movement rather than passive stretching. Instead of forcing a muscle to lengthen, we use slow, controlled movements to retrain the nervous system, allowing muscles to release tension naturally.
Who can benefit from clinical somatic exercises?
Anyone experiencing chronic muscle tension, pain, stiffness, or stress-related symptoms can benefit. These exercises are especially helpful for people with:
  • Chronic pain conditions (such as back, neck, or shoulder pain)
  • Stress-related muscle tension
  • Postural imbalances
  • Restricted mobility
  • Nervous system dysregulation
What results can I expect?
Many people feel a sense of ease and relaxation after just one session. With consistent practice, benefits can include:
  • Reduced pain and muscle tension
  • Improved posture and mobility
  • Better nervous system regulation
  • A greater sense of body awareness and ease
Do I need prior experience or flexibility to do these exercises?
Not at all! These exercises are designed to be accessible for all body types and experience levels. I will guide you through movements step by step, focusing on comfort and control rather than pushing your limits.
How long does it take to see results?
Like everything in life, practice makes progress. One factor that will impact your ability to get results will reflect your consistency in practicing these exercises.
Some people feel relief after just one session, while others notice gradual improvements over time.
With consistent practice, most people experience significant changes within a few weeks of regular practice, with the benefits growing with regular integration.
How long do I need to practice these exercises each day/week/month?
Your daily practice can last 10 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of exercises you do and how slowly you progress through them.
On average, most of my videos that you will receive will range in the 10-15min mark.
When you first start 10-15min per day, 5-7 days a week is ideal to get results. You will receive a full recommended outline after your first session with me.

Are the exercises safe for everyone?
While these exercises are gentle and low-impact, they may not be suitable for pregnant women or individuals with severe mobility limitations. If you have specific concerns, consult with your healthcare provider to see if this practice is right for you.

Meet
Somatic Nancy
Guiding women ready to relieve their stress based conditions by coming back home to their embodied wholeness with somatic practices!

I’ve been there!
Overwhelmed, burnt out, and stuck in a cycle of chronic pain and fatigue.
My body felt heavy, my mind exhausted, and no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to bring the deep relief I longed for.
I spent years healing from past trauma and stress cycles using both psychological and somatic approaches. While they profoundly contributed to my overall well-being, I still felt like my body hadn’t caught up to my mind. I was trapped in a loop of high resting muscle tension and constant activation.
I knew I had made so much progress, yet I was still experiencing physiological stress symptoms such as eye twitches, muscle cramps and spasms, jaw clenching, painful menstrual cramps, and waking up in the middle of the night with clenched fists, just to name a few. My nervous system was stuck in a habitual activation response, keeping my muscles tense and my body on high alert, and my doctor told me I had the onset of "fibromyalgia".
Then, I discovered clinical somatic exercises. A gentle yet powerful way to release habitual, deeply ingrained muscle tension, reconnect with my body and restore my energy. Within a week, I noticed real changes. After a month, most of my symptoms had faded, and by three months, I had finally found the relief I had been craving.
Now, I help others do the same by guiding them through somatic exercises toward ease, resilience, and a renewed sense of well-being.
